  • Various Options With SUPER ©

This small panel provides access to most of the video and audio options in SUPER ©

DirectShow Decode To Add Watermark, Join identical files or Apply some video effects using DirectShow
Hi Quality To Use the video High Quality mode of the internal FFmpeg, MEncoder, ffmpeg2theora encoders
Top Quality Applies an algorithm to optimize the selected VideoBitrate, renders a VBR video stream
Stretch It Stretches the video image over the entire frame canvas, covers the upper and lower black bars
48K Audio Sets the internal audio sampling reference from 44100 Hz to 48000 Hz
H264 Profile Sets the Profile, Level and Reference Frames of the H.264/AVC Video codec
Crop / Pad For Cropping and Padding the video frames
Other Opts Provides other Encoding Options

When the RightClick Menu Show Useful Hints option is checked, hover the mouse over any enabled
box or field on the GUI to read more details.
This option is accessed through the H264 Profile tiny switch when it is enabled (not grayed).
This option sets the (Profile/Level/Ref. Frames) of the rendered H.264/AVC video codec.
When the AVI, MKV, MOV, MP4 containers are selected, the "Tweak" checkbox is checked
and grayed allowing by default the modification of all settings as per the required values.

However, when the 3GP/3G2, iPod, Zune, PSP, PS3, TS and M2TS containers are selected, an
internal preset value for (Profile/Level/Ref. Frames) is already defined to insure better
compatibility with the target hardware device. Modifying the settings may lead to un-usable
output files. However, the "Tweak" checkbox may be checked in order to modify any
             (Profile/Level/Ref. Frames) value.
To open the "Crop & Pad Options" panel, click on the Crop / Pad tiny swith.
This button is disabled/grayed Whenever MEncoder is selected or in some specific
conditions when the video stream is either missing or do not allow Crop/Pad.
The Top, Bottom, Left and Right values can be separately set for Crop or Pad.

When the RightClick Menu Show Useful Hints option is checked, hover the mouse
over the "Crop & Pad Options" panel to read more details.
To open the "Other Encode Options" panel, click on the Other Opts tiny swith.
Some features may be disabled/grayed depending on the selected Output Container, the
selected Video Codec or Audio Codec. For instance, the "Adjust The Encode Volume" is
grayed when the audio stream is disabled.

When the RightClick Menu Show Useful Hints option is checked, hover the mouse
over the "Other Encode Options" panel to read more details.

Open this panel by clicking on the Directshow Decode (D) Tiny switch
Several Video DirectShow-based options can be set :
Adding Watermark on each video frame and setting the font, color or position of the Waterwark
Joining several video format-identical files into one encoded file
Forcing the rendered video file into Slow or Fast motion
Applying some video effects to the rendered file like rotations, color effects, fading..

  • Using "DirectShow Decode" With SUPER ©

    • When the DirectShow Decode switch is unchecked, disabled, SUPER © encodes any input files/formats irrelevant
of their video/audio codecs by using its own encoding and decoding engine based on the Libavcodec library compiled
      within FFmpeg, MEncoder etc..
In this DirectShow Decode OFF mode, SUPER © will not use or rely on any other external codec installed in your PC.

    • When the DirectShow Decode switch is checked, enabled, SUPER © relies exclusively on your PC's DirectShow engine
to decode the input file before re-encoding it.
DirectShow is the multimedia playback engine used by Windows Media Player (WMP) to decode and play most of the supported files.
The DirectShow engine can be also used by any other application supporting it or relying on it for decoding (or even encoding).
When the DirectShow Decode switch is checked, then SUPER © uses your PC's DirectShow engine to decode the multimedia
files that are usually playable with your WMP.
In other words, enable the DirectShow Decode switch, then, if you can play a file with Windows Media Player, it means
you can re-encode it with SUPER ©
Encoding successfully in this DirectShow Decode ON mode, depends ONLY on the available DirectShow ActiveX filters
installed and registered on your PC. This is the main reason why results may differ from a PC to another, and why the
same clip can be played on some WMP but not on others..
Enabling the DirectShow Decode switch provides faster and improved encoding with SUPER ©

    • In order to use the DirectShow engine, various codecs (ActiveX filters) have to be installed on your PC. Every file/format
requires an ActiveX Splitter to split the streams: Video, Audio, Subtitles etc..
Then every stream requires its appropriate DirectShow ActiveX decoder.
When you consider decoding various containers with DirectShow like: AVI, MKV, MOV, MP4, 3GP, FLV etc.. a large number of
ActiveX filters are required to be installed on your PC.
Problems often occur on PCs loaded with those "codec packs" that are marketed as the best solution to decode everything!
Codecs conflict is the main reason of failure when playing or decoding most multimedia formats.

    • To get the most reliable DirectShow configuration engine, Two softwares have to be installed by all means on your PC:
they are the Haali MatroskaSplitter and ffdshow.
We strongly recommend to previously un-install from your PC any other so called "codec packs".
      • Haali MatroskaSplitter : download the MatroskaSplitter
Although it is called MatroskaSplitter, it is in fact a broadband DirectShow Media Splitter covering a wide
range of file/format not limited to Matroska. Here's the list of supported codecs.
This great DirectShow Splitter will practically accept most file/format/containers as input to split them into their
corresponding streams and feed the ffdshow. Here's an example of an iPod MP4 container splitted by the DirectShow
Haali MatroskaSplitter into 1 Video and 1 Audio stream, each feeding the ffdshow DirectShow decoder.

      • ffdshow : download ffdshow
ffdshow is a DirectShow filter and VFW codec for many audio and video formats, it supports tons of codecs, it is the
        unique ALL-IN-ONE DirectShow filter.
Here's ffdshow in action decoding an H.264/AVC video stream and a DTS audio stream of an MKV container.
Note the endless list of Video and Audio supported codecs as shown on the "Decoder Properties" windows.

Install the Haali MatroskaSplitter and ffdshow to use SUPER © with the DirectShow Decode checked mode
and enjoy another unlimited way of fast and accurate encoding between any file/format to any file/format!
